Students participated in “Spooky Trivia” hosted by the Student Success Team Oct. 27, from 6 to 8 p.m. in Moody Center 108.
“Trivia nights are a lot of fun,” Heidi Gallagher, a freshman art major from Frsico, said. “I have participated in a few of them with my friends on a team. We have not won yet, but we still get a lot of enjoyment out of the game and challenge of the event.”
Student Success Coaches Ryanne Kreuger and Isaac Cervantes host the event so that students can relax, enjoy a fun game and will be more familiar with them. “[Kreuger and Cervantes] are really fun people to be around and they are always so friendly,” Gallagher said. “They are always willing to help and genuinely want you to be successful at Hardin-Simmons.”
Trivia nights have happened a few times already this semester, but it is not too late to sign up and join. If someone wants to participate, they just have to show up that night and they can be added to an established group or form a new one with other players.
“A bunch of my friends were busy the night they started trivia so I signed up alone,” Belen Herrera, a freshman undecided major from Abilene, said. “I got put into a group with some other people that came alone and I have gotten to make a ton of new friends from it.”
Students do not have to participate in answering the trivia questions to enjoy the event. Everyone is invited to enjoy the event either as a competitor or a spectator.
“Trivia nights are a lot of fun, even if you are not doing as well as you would hope,” Hererra said. “Sometimes there are people just spending time with their friends or enjoying watching the game. I like how the event takes everyone’s comfort level into consideration.”
