This coming Tuesday starts the beginning of International Student Fellowship (ISF) week. Our Roots: International Week will start with an international chapel at 9:30 a.m. in Logsdon Chapel. The purpose of ISF is to spread awareness and share different cultures represented by the students on campus. There will be several events throughout the week that celebrate in different ways. Between Nights of Worship, sports and food there is sure to be something for everyone.
“I am looking forward to the soccer tournament and Taste of the World,” Ethan Arias, a freshman accounting & finance major from San Angelo, said. “As well as the chapel services Tuesday and Thursday.”
Acacia Anderson, a freshman biology and pre-physical therapy and biology double major from Kenya, East Africa, said, “I am most looking forward to all the different activities and celebrating so many different cultures in various ways. At my previous school, we had a similar event and it was amazing to see the diversity of cultures explode on campus. I can't wait to see it happen here. I have been a part of some of the logistics and planning of the events and it will be incredible to see them come together!”
“Getting to know everyone in ISF through our cafeteria hangouts has been my favorite part,” Sophia Potana, a freshman nursing major from India, said. “I am most looking forward to sharing double ka meetha with everyone at the Taste of the World event.”
If you are someone who wants to join, but are unsure how or would like to learn more about ISF you can find them on Instagram or reach out to one of the members such as Arias, Anderson, or the President of the club, Anne Gaudard Correa Rangel, a junior biochemistry major from Brazil.
