“I am super excited to bring this show to life. One theme I'm ready for the audience to see is the testing faith theme.” Bishop Martinez, sophomore, acting major from San Angelo who plays Joe Benjamin said. “God works in many ways. Remember God always has a plan.”

Simon’s God’s Favorite is a contemporary morality tale. This modern-day retelling of Job accounts the life of successful New York businessman Joe Benjamin who is visited by Sidney Lipton, “A Messenger from God,” who has one mission: test Joe’s faith and report back to “the Boss.”

“As a cast, we really want to emphasize the importance of coming to God. This show is wacky, funny, heartfelt and all of the above. However, we really want to make sure that Jesus is the main focus of every production. “ Hannah Cauthen, junior theater education major from Abilene who plays Rose Benjamin said.

This production is directed by Dr. Stace Gaddy, assistant professor of theatre and will be appropriate for all ages.

“I am really excited about this play. I know it’s going to be a really good show. It’s the story of Job with a comedic twist which is going to be really fun and interesting to watch.” Allie Bjork, sophomore musical theatre major Bowie who plays Mady said. “I really love my character. She’s a really fun character to play and I hope everyone is able to come.”
