With Super Bowl LIX taking place on Feb. 9 between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles, members of Sabers decided to have their own Super Bowl themed event.
The Sabers event is called the ChampionChip. They will have a table in the Moody lobby on Feb 10, at 12 p.m. and have various chips and dip combos for students to come and try. Students can then vote on their favorite combinations to win the ChampionChip.
The Superbowl is the annual championship game of the National Football League (NFL). The Eagles have only won one superbowl game which was in 2018 and the Chiefs have won four superbowls in 1969, 2019, 2022 and 2023. With the last two years being won by the Chiefs, they are working to win their third title in a row. The game will take place on Feb. 9, at 5:30 p.m. CST.
There will be many different chip and dip combos to try from. Some of the dips featured at the event will be a spicy ranch dip, a spinach artichoke dip, queso, salsa, and a french onion dip. There will also be a variety of chips to try so students can mix and match the different chips and dips to find their favorite combinations. Students will then be asked to enter their vote on which of the various combinations is the best so at the end of the event, sabers can tally the votes and reveal the winner of the ChampionChip.
Students should go to the event for some free food and a good time. Sabers also hosts a variety of other events throughout the semester. For more information regarding those events, follow the Sabers instagram page @hsu_sabers.
