The Hardin-Simmons University Baptist Student Ministry is premiering a new event series that will be known as BSM United. Roger Jackson, the BSM director, is leading the charge in making this event happen and be known campus wide.

I’m the BSM Director meaning I handle all things Baptist student ministry related,” Jackson said. “I love working with students and seeing them understand and learn more about Christ. One of the things that I build my life on is helping people find their full potential in Christ.”

BSM United was created with campus ministry and spreading the Gospel as the goal and foundation, focusing on bringing people to the truth found in Christ.

“BSM United is an event where we are trying to center the entire campus around Christ and also unite other universities together for Jesus,” Jackson said. “The focus of the event is to help those who are far from God to find God and for those who are already following Jesus to grow and have a deeper devotion for Him.”

The long-term goal of this ministry is for other campuses to join the HSU BSM at this event, while also focusing on reaching students at Hardin-Simmons first.

“My hopes for the long-term is that we would see the entire campus come together to worship Jesus and that everybody has an opportunity to hear the message of Christ on campus,” Jackson said. “I just love the idea of seeing multiple campuses come together and seeing students from different schools worshiping Jesus together.”

BSM United will be taking place once a month during the spring semester, with hopes of growing to twice a month during the upcoming fall semester.

The BSM is growing and is open to all students on campus, for attending events and for serving in leadership positions.

“We are just finishing up our new website www.hsubsm.com and on that website we have a button that says join BSM that leads them to a leadership application,” Jackson said. “Once they fill that out, I will reach out to them with more details.”

All HSU students, faculty and staff are encouraged to support the BSM by attending these events. The next BSM United will take place on March 26 in Woodward Dellis Recital Hall at 8 p.m., with food being provided after the event in the Connally Missions Center.
