Baptist Student Ministries (BSM) is a spiritual development organization on college campuses that provides students with a group of people focused on seeking God.
Hardin-Simmons University’s BSM sponsors several events throughout the school year including Bible studies and worship nights. On April 10 at 8 p.m. until April 11 at 8 p.m., BSM will be hosting the annual ANDY24. Located on Anderson Lawn, this will be a 24-hour period for intentional prayer and worship.
There will be student-led worship on Wednesday night, Thursday morning for chapel and Thursday night. There will also be a prayer tent set up with stations each covering different topics. Some of these will be interactive and others reflective. If you would rather have your own Bible study and prayer time there will be a section of the tent set up for that as well. The goal of ANDY24 is to focus on God and to pray without distraction.
“I am most excited to see what God does with this time,” Landri Bayless, BSM campus missionary and HSU alumnus said. “Prayer is powerful and can have a huge impact. I hope that the students feel this impact and can carry what they learn and experience through this event into their lives and throughout the campus.”
People do not have to participate for the full 24-hour timeframe. Students should still go to class and work, do their homework and attend other commitments they have made. This will be a come-and-go, so students are more than welcome to join even if they can only stay for a few minutes. Additionally, prayer is something that can be appropriately achieved anywhere, so students can still join ANDY24 by praying for HSU and their peers throughout the day.
If you would like to add an ANDY24 shirt to your collection for $10, feel free to reach out to BSM Director Manny Silva or Bayless for more information. The leadership of BSM is looking forward to sharing this time with you and hoping to see you there.
